Private or shared tour?
Price, flexibility and pace — how to decide between going with just your group or sharing the tour.

Shared
You join other participants. The price is usually per person and the provider sets the times. A good option if you travel alone or as a couple.
Private
The tour is just for your group. The price is usually per group, per boat or per vehicle, up to a maximum capacity. You get more freedom over timing and pace, which helps with young children or a large group.
How to compare
Multiply the per-person price by the number of participants and compare it with the private price, checking what each includes. On our listings the format shows as "Shared group", "Private" or "Private or shared" when the source states it; the "Format" filter in the tour list lets you choose.
