Humpback whales in Samaná Bay
Official watching season 15 January to 30 March, with watching allowed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Ministry of Environment). According to the official tourism site, tours run as long as whales remain in the bay.

Wettest months in Samaná
At the Samaná weather station, the wettest period runs from September to November (716 mm on average over three months; November is the wettest month at 260.7 mm). The driest period is February to April, although February still gets about 124 mm.
