To visit Los Haitises, the official site says to go to the maritime port of Santa Bárbara de Samaná and board a catamaran with a tour; the crossing to the park's bay takes about 45 minutes.

Boat taxis leave regularly from the Samaná port on Avenida Marina and take visitors to Cayo Levantado every day.

The Puentes de Samaná are pedestrian footbridges linking the Santa Bárbara waterfront promenade to two small islets in the bay (named Cayo Linares and Cayo Carenero by this source); conceived in the 1970s as part of a monumental project that was never finished, they are now the town's emblem.

A photo archive describes the footbridges as linking the small, uninhabited islets of Cayo Linares and Cayo Vigía to the mainland.

A travel platform calls Los Puentes the 'bridges to nowhere': a walkway of about 0.8 mile (1.3 km) originally meant to lead to a casino, now a spot to watch the sunset over Cayo Vigía.
